Dec 2012
Here in these meadows we lay,
beneath those orange crush flavored rays.
We sip our life away, through
these straw scattered days.
I cannot play this game, searching
the clouds for a picturesque
painting, we gaze.
All the while not knowing
what terror did reign,
beyond our backyards
and front porches, those days
were much simpler, in so many ways.
Not a wish could take me back, but
I really do think, that I'm okay with that.
