Can be painful and it’s true
That one must first ensure
What they interpret
Is what is meant by you

The next time you get your feelings hurt
By what you thought you read
Make sure you read the lines themselves
And understand what is said

So many misunderstandings
And arguments that ensue
Are caused by not understanding
What is said to you

Listen closely truth is silent
Let the silence speak to you
But remember to listen carefully
To what is being said too
