Rolled back regulations
Sounds so strange
To people who believe
In climate change
Methane emissions
In the atmosphere
Add to global warming
But they don’t care

They just wanna drill
Despite the loss
That we the people
Pay as the cost
And by the time
That all that drilling’s done
We’ll lose our protection
From the sun

They ignore
Every warning sign
When money is
Their bottom line
And here’s the thing
That doesn’t make much sense
Cuz we cannot avoid
The consequence

We are ruled
By avarice, indeed
So we take much more
Than we need
Even though they hear
Our voices plead
We need to use restraint
To succeed
