I've been waiting
For the sunrise
To crawl out
From yesterday

I can hear the town
Cries
Mumbling about
What passed away

Counting down the days
Like the calendar
Has something to say

About how long
will ever
Live another
Sunrise made

I've been waiting
On the moon sky
Watching in phase

Under the starlight
In my mind
As I gaze

I've been waiting for
The same time
I take

Chasing the clocks
Arms
As far
As they reach

Waiting
On a time-line
While the hours
Speed

I see a checkered
Flag
On the horizon
Waving at me

Going 100 miles an hour
I slowed down
And waited
On the track
Of the humans race

For the end to come

When I shined
A light
On its face
