I have a girlfriend,
Her name is depression,
I am always with her,
And she with me,

I have a girlfriend and her name is depression,
She has sandy blonde hair,
Pale skin,
Freckles,
Eyes of cyan,
She wears a black vest and blue jeans.

I have a girlfriend and her name is depression,
When we are together,
When we are outside,
We are holding hands,
We never argue,
Never disagree,
Never talk,
Never smile,
Just holding hands,
Holding hands,
Holding hands,
Because I already lost my grasp.

She is my girlfriend and her name is depression,
She is my alter-ego,
She is my spirit,
She is the shield that partially absorbs the torment,
She is the lips which I feel nothing touching my own with.

She is my girlfriend and her name is depression,
The substitute pillow when I go to sleep,
That which I hold so tightly,
She never holds back.

I have a girlfriend,
Her name is depression,
I know she is not wholly real,
But she makes me feel more complete.
