Another highball before I fall of this chair
one more drink to down do I dare?

There is nothing in the stars
the cards
the tea leaves
and who believes all that
mumbo jumbo anyway?

Cold hard facts stack up
like building blocks.

Am I there yet?
but where is there?
one more highball and
I won't really care.

A lifetime is a long time
but paradoxically
no time at all
and still
I choose
I chose
to fall
and who knows how
it would have gone on
if I'd gone down a different road?
