Forbidden love
you’re a bittersweet existence
Daily I’m speared through the gut
With weapons of nonexistence

A tribal ritual of survival in my blindness
I’m weakened by dreams you can’t see
Orange evenings are departing
And raging red commands the skies

Captive love runs in panicked rings
in search of escape from fate
Heads thud to tribal drums
Hearts spill open
A predator of my own kind

Willing prey, praying for your love
To release me from freedom
Sonnet, poem, love
