Consequences have a ripple effect
You may take the brunt of the hit
But we all feel it too.
When they want to send you away for years
Shield you and make you better,
It's not just you who doesn't get to see me
It's also me who doesn't get to see you
And I promise, I'm crying just as hard as you
My love.
Holding your pillow in my sleep
Because it smells like you
And holding you in my dreams
Because the consequences hurt me too.
