Laughing, they say I’m always different
Always the odd one out
Like it’s a joke
Like they’re trying to say I don’t belong
In their world
They don’t know how much it hurts
Their words,
Tossed out without a care
Looking down, wishing I wasn’t there
Or anywhere, really

But I realize
Different is Unique
Odd one out is Rare
Don’t belong is Extraordinary

Hurt replaced by pride, and acceptance
Resignation to be one of them
Fitting in as the odd one out, unique

Class clown, Popular girl, ****, ****, Genius
I’m all of it
A combination

I am from everywhere I’ve been
I am all that I have been
I know all that I have seen,
Thought,
Heard,
Felt,
Breathed....

I am me
And in my world, I am the perfect fit
