I strayed too close
To the midnight sun.
I loved the heat as it embraced
Everything that I am.
Hellfire rained down from heaven,
And bathed me like a child,
Longing for its holy light.
My paraffin wings melt slowly;
These golden feathers are in embers,
As the flames consume me.
Above this lightless world.
And its Stygian towns;
In the alabaster ocean,
I eternally drown.
