We had land once
Some trees
A backyard
And a pool
Fall infernos of leaves
A whole mountain to rule
Me, my family and I
When we all OWNED each other
My mother would yell
But we loved one another
My father would teach me to hunt
And to think
When I wanted to ****
I would spill it in ink
And pretend I was heroes
And monsters
And god
For the scare in my head
Was of red Volgograd
Don’t breathe the Russian air
