The poetry well

The boy in the throng was demonstrating
legally on his land against the oppressive
neighbour country when he was shot dead by a ******.
This is the new policy, shoot children and
hope the parents can stop them doing what is right.
The well of poetry is full of dead children murdered
by a state that knows no limit to their cruelty
a country that has lost it moral compass and I also feel
sorry for the young soldiers who have to partake in this slaughter?
It will come back and haunt them.
We are so silent; we report what is happening but refrain
from saying anything. I ask how long we are going to say nothing.
