Ignorance is easy
It doesn’t make us ******
But means we are busy
Stuff flying towards us from all angles makes us dizzy
We hear something
But it means nothing
We ask is it really that bad?
Our brushing away of things is quite sad

It’s hard to notice sometimes
That one decision can change everything, until it has, and we are out of time
And crazy things do occur
That wouldn’t have if we hadn’t made one tiny decision, we’re sure
We remember something
But it means nothing
We ask is it really that bad?
And about our own changes, get mad

Peel back the layers and see
That maybe it didn’t change me
As much as it seems on the outside
This is where my soul resides
And it has drifted back to where it was before
You’ve experienced this before, I’m sure
We feel something
But it means nothing
We ask was it really that bad?
We’re selfish more than just a tad

After a tragedy
We feel that memory loss could never be
Scars so evident
But our emotions are all spent
We don’t quite know how
To keep living in light of it now
We hear something
But it means nothing
We ask is it really that bad?
And in our own emotional distress, we are clad

We ask is it really that bad?
Because we knew it was bad
But
Not
Bad
Enough
To warrant us spending our love

For us to care
No time to spare
now read just the bolded words
written about the Holocaust, and A victim of the Burundi genocide
much love
