When all is lost
And everything that you had
Is gone

When all that is familiar
Is removed
And the sounds of others
Have fallen silent

When the breath of companions
Is stilled
And the list of things
That needed to be done
Is done

All that is left
Is
Oneself

To face the essence of oneself
To sit alone in the silence of oneself
To wonder at the thoughts of oneself
To ask
Why am I here?
Why am I here?
What is my purpose?

To face oneself again and again
And again

And ask oneself
Why?

Only then
Can one
