Thought our love was built on rocks
But you were pouring sand
We were nothing but moments that
Could have been spent with anyone
Over and over I wrote the music
But you never sang along
I was your ghost in the mirror,
A prop reassuring your beauty
But reflections lie
And so did I
I saw right through you
But wanted to be the alchemist
For your heart-
Which turned out to be an
Inanimate object on your vanity
Thought our love was built on rocks
But you were pouring sand
