my father was
a man of god
preached his word
and spoiled not the rod

This I thought as a child
I followed his footsteps
Became blessed
And endowed

Until his sins
Left him dead
and me torn
To be raised by kin
Too angry to mourn

all that he taught
became a lie
I was only 16
When he decided
