that even if i've had a horrible day,
where i have snapped at people and
been unkind and
broken the golden rule in several ways,

she hauls herself off the floor
(stretches her arthritic back)
and pushes her nose into my hand as if i am the best person in the world.

it's nice
to have someone love you like that.
