The U.S. govt. legislated the fortification of bread flour with niacin beginning in 1938. I suspect the protocols have been relaxed (the amount of niacin reduced). Niacin deficiency symptoms include psychosis, neurosis, insomnia, depression, melancholia, schizophrenia & anorexia nervosa.
