I remember when I was young
It was in elementary school.
The teacher told us not to bring our toys
To leave our toys at home
Because now was the time to learn
Not for toys.
One boy did not listen
But he never listened
His name was Deshaun.
He had an Optimus Prime toy.
Deshaun said it was his best friend
We did not argue
He brought it every day.
But one day,
Tyler yelled out in class
Loud, for those of us in the back
Teacher, Deshaun has a toy!
He’s not supposed to have it!
Deshaun turned his face
Just his face
His body was turned toward the  front.
And said in a shrill voice
IS IT YOUR BUSINESS?!!
I guess it wasn’t
Because the class was silent
He even brought the toy home
I guess Optimus Prime got to go to Cybertron once more.
