Down by the sea
They shared secret smiles of blood
They drank ashes of the deep
While the ace of clubs watched
They laughed loud and heartily
They did all that they could
Down by the sea
While the ace of clubs watched
Soon the toe paint started to chip
Another ounce of time, goodbye
Soon the black eyes began to slip
Another loss for words, alright
Down by the sea
They shared secret smiles of blood
Never noticing the trees
Or the begonias in the mud
Down by the sea
They drank ashes of the deep
When it was all done
The ace of clubs went to sleep
