Barking dogs and believers in God
insist that you listen
Both disturb the peace
the wolf and the priest

They choose the time
they choose the place
they choose the rhyme
they choose the pace

You are incidental
in their scheme of things
They want everyone with ears
To hear the song they sing

Mouths wide open they project
a sound you can't ignore
while they rant and rave
and growl and roar

Though you pray for the end
it will only come
when they both decide
that they are finally done
