Wayward bound or Eastwards bound to a place I found that suits me so,

and don't pretend that you don't know how it feels,
how when the Sinner and the Summer show a clean pair of heels and skedaddle

I paddle my own canoe and you know how that feels too,
don't you?

See
We are one and the same
granted
that
there are different races, religions
and creeds,

so feed me the line
like you did the last time
that we met,
better yet,
keep it
you'll need it when
the snow starts to fall,

to tether your eyes shut against
the bite of the Wind.

You know and I know you know and I've heard that before
the audience applauds you and calls out 'Encore'
and I know that you know you want more than the fame or your name up in lights

you want your face in the sights and her finger on the trigger,
the bigger man would say so and don't you pretend you don't know that's not true.
