There was a time
They wore a hood
To hide their face
That’s understood
But now-a-days
We wish they would
Put out their torches
And fire wood

They always sought
Hegemony
Over people
Who look like me
And even though
That well may be
We’re still here
As they can see

Three days later
He responded
To Charlottesville
But appeared despondent
Which of course
Corresponded
With the public’s outrage
That he hadn’t done it

So he said precisely what
Somebody wrote
With all the right words
And I’ve taken note
But the reason that doesn’t
Float my boat
He began his remarks
After pausing to gloat
