Innocence lost at the cost of
Buying and selling pure
So we ingest and we forget that
Our souls are stained and poor
Can we please hold each other’s hands
And try to find the door
Cause all exits lead to loneliness
Laced with wanting more

Promises are made in silence
And they lack a rainbow
We need to decode our dreams
But there’s no St. Joe
Our strengths reside right here
But our hair won’t grow
We build our houses like fools
And tuck away our halos

We play follow the leader
And smash the tablets of stone
We’re earthbound in life
But nations we call home
Will God send his plagues
For the venom in our bones
If we don’t free ourselves
We’ll be erased from the tome
