Ivy
I heard the steps in reverse
From the corridor to the door
And I can recall every chore
They bubbled up in my mind
As my heart tore in two.
What a shrew
What a tale
My soul feels stale
Something that not even the stench of ale can drown
A strange man would say
Why the frown
It’s not the same
Can someone tame this wild heart
But it’s too late, we are apart
Constellations and seas
A ticking time bomb about to implode
Tick- my heart cracks in two
Tock- my souls oozes out
Unable to shout
BUT I LOVED YOU
Who’s left in this wreckage
Can anyone save me
Can anyone see me
Underneath the rubble
A lonely soul will stumble
And maybe just maybe then they will recall
The lonely tale of ivy
Poisoned by the dangerous drink of love.
