Seated at the end
With a full plate
Of meal made ready
And without wait

Fork and knife
And glass of wine
To complement the meal
Prepared so fine

Small portion
Of center cut made
Away from the bodies
And where they laid

Not from death
Or violence wrought
But trappings of love
And passions sought

For they live still
Not without
A heart of theirs
And love they doubt

Missing the part
That one would share
Now a meal
Made so fair
