Victory
Victory is tasted best -
By those tongues bereft of nectarine -
To masticate a conquest -
Requires flags on which to wean -
Who seized days Beauty caught in palm -
Who seized the bonny sun -
Who climbed upon the stairs of heaven -
Through cosmic light beams run -
As he elusive - aloof - or gone -
Lay distant from my hands -
I nonetheless salute his truth -
Which goes victorious to foreign -shores and sands -
