He had a lot to say about life
He’d just about seen it all
He'd been taught a few things
About how love can rise and fall

He said a man’s as faithful as his options
And it’s an insult to turn a woman down
He always looked hard at beauty
But he never liked their little crown

He would ask, “What does it mean
When a woman does a double take?”
Then he’d say, “It means she’s mine
‘Cause a girl won’t look at what she won’t make”

He was cocky
Because he knew what he had
He’d been burned before
But he figured it was their bad

If a woman wasn’t deep enough
He’d go to the bottom without her
He didn’t like the social scene
That's not what makes his heart stir

He hated that song about girls wanting to have fun
It told him all he needed to know
He wanted somebody who was a little more than that
And not just something for show

He wondered what his last love should be
But would it be a woman or just to live free?
It’s hard to know what’s the best thing to love
Should it be a person or something you can’t see?
