I don’t regret the day I met you
bumping into you at a little show
me and my boys was throwing down
tearing up the stage
trying to impress you
Wanting to dance with that sweet honey
throwing some money
just trying to get your attention

you picked it all up, and threw it back in my face
told me you’re better than me
I got angry, stormed out,
my boys were laughing at me
i regret what i did

so I crawled back into the bar on my knees
came up to you and tapped on your shoulder
Apologize, that’s what you do
Said what was need to be said
Tipped my hat and turned around
I stopped and said oh wait..
Turned back around said
Would you like to dance?
with a ol’ sinner like me?
You won’t regret it

Got shot down, got knocked down
Can’t get back up now
My feelings were hurt
stole some bottle of whiskey from the bar
drank it all down
Spent my night drowning in my alcohol induced sorrow
Praying for a better tomorrow

That I’d bump into you once again
at a different show, a different day, a new pain
Hoping for a second chance
to ask you out for another dance
with that sweet honey

tried to drink you away
and you...I can't get over
awooo
