Squishing in rubber boots you get to jump in the mud. A puddle filled with rain water after an early spring flood. Watching the ripples dance across the water. Then it settles back down filled with a muddy cloud. You  can play wet hopscotch and no one minds the mess. When you are done the sun just comes up and dries it up anyway. Your clothes are water proof so you can just stand in the rain, and they will be clean and good as new in no time. So on to the next puddle, skip and hop and splash. If you leave muddy prints and splatter everywhere, it can look like a weird form of art. So once more back to where the fun began. That is why puddles are so much fun.
