see-through

there was nothing
substantial in you
 you were quite there
 but never quite, too
like shadows at day
 when someone passes by
you solidify
 you were there
 and you weren’t
at the same time. there were times
 when i thought
 i could hold you
 when i thought
i already had you
but thoughts
aren’t always real
 and what is real
 aren’t really
 thought of.

i think everyone has a moment that changes their lives forever. there's a life before that and the life after.
