Nature is not kind, it can be overly cruel. What we see as unnecessary violence is in fact the way that life exist in all of the world. Violence is part of the natural order of all things. Predators eat prey and the remnants of what is killed is gathered by insects and bacteria, scavengers and is recycled in a never end game of give and take. In humanity it can be seen as the same in certain ways that we live. The weaker of us are oppressed by the stronger and what they want is taken. Unlike nature, we amass more than we need and so the difference in the ideals of nature and man can be clearly defined. One takes and consumes out of necessity and the other will take and take even when there is more than enough. So which one is actually the more civilized?
