Have been that way
long, as I recall,
paused in spaces
that offered love,
co-existing,
spreading light
to nooks and corners.

Unwanted, if I felt,
removed myself
in silence
holding my peace
in respect of life
however it came.

Ans so
I walked away
without a single,
backward glance.
