May 2012
warm porridge
mussed dream hair
there's a wayward cat underfoot
batting at a terrified clove of garlic
trying desperately to disappear in beige carpet
the humor is poignant and fleeting
tangible for seven seconds
a moment.

a dim basement
a humming fridge
an unmade futon
a minimum wage
a full tummy
a spoonful of honey

a moment.

words of passion
words of doubt
words of grief
of hope.

words for words
just for their sake.

a moment.

i live with a bee
a pixie, a fox,
two kits
and me.

we like to have tea.

a moment, it's okay.
today is a day.

we'll be alright
no matter which way

we'll be alright-
it's going to be okay.
