They have always
fascinated me.

Whether it was
the exotic colors,

Their ability to
show up everywhere,

The clumsiness of
their take off,

Or the peculiar noise
when they would sing
their known song.

Intrigued by this all,
what I really admire most is,

How they can stand
on just one foot
without the fear of falling.
I'd give anything for that self-worth,
for that lack of fear in myself.
