May 2017
she is the perfect hue
of red and orange
breaking through
a deep blue and purple sky

she scatters on both ends
of the endless horizon,
extending her radiance
from north to south

she peeks behind sleek clouds,
gleaming upon matter to matter,
leaving dark shadows
at the rear

she is fiery but comes with
and fondles brisk air
leaving hints of yearning
in the hearts of her admirer

they say her beauty is a curse
that turns everything she touches into gold
then later deserting
the souls that ache for her to hold

she is a thousand sunsets
that retreat beyond the perspective
making one last appearance
between the sky and the ocean

plunging her charm once more,
revealing her infernal grace
she is a thousand sunsets
that i have to chase
