May 2017
You were the dream and reality
broke the fall*
So I boxed up the stars
Cursed the birds for their song
Turned my face at the sight of rain
Demanded the rose to lose its
vibrant hue
For how could I bring myself
to admire beauty when I did
*not belong to you?
