A Sobering Thought
A sobering thought
The death of an alcoholic
Not some bridge-squatting ***
Unkempt and unclean
A family man
With a good job
And a mortgage
But no liver
A long weekend
Waiting for news
"Not looking good"
"Deteriorating"
"Just a matter of time"
"
It
is done"
We cannot speak
'it'
Too soon for that
So we talk about
'it'
Without saying the words
You couldn't live without the *****
You couldn't live without a liver
So we have to live without you
