I found God's green earth
Or maybe somebody pointed it out
I wiped my feet off on some dirt
So I could leave the tracks of what I’m about

One time I was so sure of myself
Then somebody said wisdom is what you don’t know
It’s too bad it took me all that time to change my mind
The things I believed took a long time to grow

I can take a horizon anywhere
All you have to do is remember to look
Walking ahead of me, it said it’s time chico
I’m not going to wait to read it in a book

There isn’t anything about you that I assume
I’m going to give you that chance
We don’t have much time to interest one another
Maybe we should just stick to that one glance

I’m going to wade on in to my world
I’m going to wear a slow moving gold band
Time isn’t as pretty as it used to be
At least I can watch the sun reflect off my hand

That’s really it isn’t it
Seeing what we need to be holy
I’m only worth the dust that begins to covers me
Maybe that’s why my heart beats so slowly
