In the beginning,
there was nothing.
Then she appeared with a small magic wand,
dipped in a shimmering liquid.
She gently blew
and the bubbles of life floated
and lit up the nothingness.
They were all sizes and colors,
some heavy and solid;
some light, airy, and brilliant;
some shone intensely.
They began to be drawn to
one another
and dance in patterns,
some close, some afar.
They circled around,
forming all that we know.
They were magnificent
and powerful.
They were the world.
They remain
and fill
the lonely space that was
nothingness.
Inspired by a really cool picture of a little girl blowing bubbles, some of which were planets. See the collection "Beginnings"
