A Poem for Joey

Tubes like snakes

slithered through our

poetry class along with

cliches about love and ***

and loneliness.

Tea time

and crosswords

and cookies

cure hearts.

talk of

gumbo and

deliciously cold

plums will always

bring you to mind.
