Raindrops at Midnight
There’s a conflict
Brewing in my brain,
A coffee stain
Soiling my new shirt.
If I open up my heart
Will it hurt?
Another hundred
Million sighs,
Sighed.
Another hundred
Million days
Gone by.
Raindrops fall
In the orange glow
Of the dim streetlight,
As I question all I know
I watch them shimmer
In puddles at midnight.
