You mistook my kindness
For an invitation
To a dreamy romance
But all I have are empty words
And paper-thin feelings
To write in this broken pen.

I forgot how to read
Between the lines
Although you're an open book
Now our friendship's cascading
Like hand torn pages
Of verses that don't rhyme.
