Keeping my legacy alive
Thinking on the Civil Rights fight and how it will be your strive
I faced struggles everywhere along the way
It’s opposition blocking every moment day
Even though I died in efforts
The mission of Civil Rights must continue on
It’s continuous regardless of how long
The Civil Rights fight must let the world continue to see
It’s Freedom for all including me
Don’t turn back and flee
Victory can be done
But it must be complete until we have won
Come together in unity
This goes for every U.S. city
Across the country into every community
Raise your Destiny fists up
Don’t tire and get fed up
Power to Dignity and Pride
This is a movement with no time to hide
Educate and use what knowledge will provide
Let your voices be heard in the fight
It’s the sunshine that has given us the light
We can’t sit back and let Civil Rights continue to be a plight
Show Washington, DC in plain sight
The sun has risen and tomorrow will be our guiding light.
