Would You ?
If in all the world there were but two
and if all this were good and true
   would you ?
and if you dreamed of PJ's blue and
big strong arms encircling you and
if you woke and found it true
    would you ?
and if you were good and bright
and I stayed with you all night
and I turned out the light
   would you ?
and if we lay there face to face
with nothing between us but silk
and lace and if you knew everything
was safe,
    would you ?
would you kiss me goodnight ?

This wanting, getting, finding out
we don't want it all --
yet if there be sweet birds in spring
there will be leaves that fall.

Here's to the love that lies in
your eyes
         and lies
               and lies
                     and lies.

                Life
It is a pair of dice plugged with lead
a crooked game where death is the
dealers friend and when we cash our
chips in for the red life hands us all
a lemon in the end.

Sooner or later -- you'll forget the
things you are saying --- and yet
It's sweet for the stars to kiss the sea
but not half as sweet as you kissing me
It doesn't mean a thing I know but
I  love to hear your lines and so ---
the moonlight has a thousand charms
and sooner or later you'll forget but
never mind this bye and by cause
sooner or later, so will I.

Life is like a cigarette -- easily started
--- quickly done, tossed away without
regret as you light up another one.

Two volume novel ---
the suns gone dim,
the moons gone black
for I loved her and
she didn't love back.
