I was a Lover and nothing less
Although it's patent that's not your view
Because I mangled my words and made a mess
But they made my care no less true
Some lovers love so much they rage
Rancorous, full of fearsome fire
Yet we all know my monologue on passion's stage
Left a lot to be desired
Nonetheless, I was a Lover
Knelt at altar of my muse
Forbidden of another
Your heart I didn't want to lose
I was a Lover, that much is true
If you think that's wrong, well ****, just sue
