Just imagine
a world without us

There'd be no
dance like our dance
urgent and rhythmic
the kind that rages
in your blood
No we can't do
nothing about that

But the talent of us
be boundless
be most avenues
in every fashion

We are bared down to a
bitter naked song
and still dazzling
more brilliant than any light

We fought and we won
and there ain't nothing
like a ravenous being with
an aged-old soul
Black people
