Jan 2017
We two, like silent ships, collide in the dark
Silver waves lap at your feet
Where arrows hit and miss their mark
Salty breeze carries away stolen dreams
Unbeknownst to you a casual glance
Has me dancing in the palm of your hand
Fate plays cruel, cunning games
And the Heart can only yield the Mind insane

To cure me would require a stronger dose
Of "That's not what I meant. Not at all."
Even with a spoonful of sugar, you know I won't
The incurable heeds to the siren's call
Sweet misery has taken its tool
Many more will also suffer so
I shouldn't be surprised at all to hear
That you steered to another pier
