It’s not enough to say
I could tell you of the stars I saw
But that would leave out the ones who heard me too
I could describe the pain
But it might not sound as sad as what happened to you

I decided to watch some candles burn
It’s the way they share themselves
But then they’re gone forever as is the moment they lit
We were the same but wax is not love
Now I have to light another one to help me forget

I started to pray but then I stopped
I wanted you to decide on your own
The way water falls is to not worry which way to go
Living like that washes away the past
But when I flooded your eyes with sadness you said no
