~
hazel eyes rest languid
soft clarinet jazz blows far away
                    smooth skin beacons calloused hands

mini-blinds separate yellow street lamp light
casting patterned shadows
       our mixed class
                       mingles with
the last tenants sweat and musk

sticky fumbling on a stained sheet
while the bass line plays low
mouths pass but never touch
        forgoing intimacy
                     bent on the finish line

rumpled stockings in the moonlight
lay below a lipstick stained wine glass

all that she left
       colored the room rose    /
